Amy Adams up for The Ten Best Days Of My Life

Shawn Levy may direct the novel adaptation

Amy Adams is planning to star in Fox’s adaptation of Adena Halpern’s novel The 10 Best Days Of My Life.

Variety reports that the studio is developing the pic as a vehicle to play a woman who dies and heads off to heaven, only to be told she’ll have to settle for a lower level of paradise unless she proves herself by recounting her 10 best days.

Shawn Levy is potentially taking the director’s chair after working with Adams on Night At The Museum: Battle Of The Smithsonian – which is also where a coincidence happened with the book.

Father-daughter dynamic

"I've known Adena for over a decade, and there is Amy, reading her book on set," says Levy. "I told her I knew the writer, she said she was loving the book, and I asked her if we should try to do this together. There is a father-daughter dynamic at the heart of the character's redemption, and as the father of three girls, that resonated strongly for me."

Adams is a busy woman – she has Leap Year, Greenburg and Daughter Of The Queen Of Sheba on her schedule.
