Andy Fickman directing Monster Attack Network

The graphic novel adaptation gets a helmer

After he scored another big box office win or the Mouse House this weekend with Race To Witch Mountain, it’s no surprise Disney wants to keep working with Andy Fickman.

The Game Plan and Witch Mountain director is now attached to tackle another film the company sees as a possible blockbuster: Monster Attack Network.

Scott Elder and Josh Harmon are even now working on an adaptation of Adam Freeman and Nima Sorat’s comic original, which finds a team guarding the island of Lapuatu.

The place would be a paradise were it not for the annoyingly regular attacks by beastoids that rise from the ocean.

There’s no word on when Disney wants this one in cinemas, but we’d guess they’re aiming for 2011 at the latest.

Could this be the next big Disney franchise? Or just a load of monster droppings?
