Ridley Scott has so many projects in development right now, but if Angelina Jolie joins Gucci, it could move ahead in the pack.
Scott has been planning the film for a while, but the script needs more re-writing. Still, Fox 2000 is trying to gear the film up for a shoot date next year.
Jolie is only in discussions at this point, but if she accepts the part, she'd play Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for planning the murder of her ex-husband, fashion icon Maurizio Gucci.
The film's sweeping plot will follow the Gucci family fortunes from the glamour of the 1970s and '80s, until the clan descended into petty fighting that hurt the brand.
Maurizio was about to launch a new line to re-establish the brand name when he was gunned down in front of his apartment in in Milan in 1995.
Sir Rid apparently wants Leonardo DiCaprio to play the murdered fashion maven, but again, no deal has been signed…
