Annette Bening has been cast to play the mother to Kristen Wiig's suicide-faker in comedy Imogene.
"It's basically about a girl who kind of pretends to kill herself... to get her recently ex-boyfriend's attention. She ends up having to go live with her mom, whom she hasn't seen in years" states Wiig.
Bening will portray the estranged gambling addicted mother of a Wiig's New York playwright. Wiig is hot property following the success of Bridesmaids (which she also co-wrote), and Bening was nominated for yet another Oscar this year for her work in The Kids Are All Right.
Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor) are directing what is said to be Wiig's "passion project".
