Anthony and Joe Russo set to direct Captain America 3

Marvel move ahead with plans for next sequel

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hasn’t even hit cinemas yet, but Marvel are already looking ahead to Captain America 3, and Anthony and Joe Russo are reportedly set to direct again.

According to Variety, Captain America 3 hasn’t even been greenlit yet, but the studio is so impressed with the second solo outing for the superhero that they are pressing ahead with plans for the third film.

Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who have directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and had previously directed several episodes of TV show Community, are reportedly working on the story outline for the threequel already, while are a writer and release date are yet to be confirmed for the film.

While it’s no surprise that a Captain America 3 is in the offing, the fact that Marvel are apparently keen to keep on the same directors for a second time round shows a lot of faith they have in The Winter Soldier, which can only be a good sign for fans.

Are you pleased to see the directors possibly return? Does this bode well for The Winter Soldier? Let us know what you think...

Of all the Marvel trailers i've watched i have to say that Winter Soldier is one that impressed me the most. I really hope the film lives up to it, and the fact they've kept the same directing team really does bode well for it. Can't wait for it now.

I love Thor and Cap but I kinda don't want to see either third outing during Phase 3. I am hoping Phase 3 consists of Ant-Man, Dr Strange and either Hulk or Black Panther.
