Anthony Hopkins is King Lear

And Keira Knightley is his daughter, Cordelia…

It’s been adapted countless times through the years, but Shakespeare’s King Lear never seems to get old in the eyes of movie-folk.

The latest thesp tackling the role (not for the first time, though this is his first cinematic crack) is Anthony Hopkins, who will take the lead in what is promised to be an epic with hefty battle scenes and a $35 million budget.

Oh, and it will also boast Keira Knightley as youngest daughter Cordelia, and – if she signs – Gwyneth Paltrow as treacherous spawn Regan.
