Antoine Fuqua locking up Prisoners

He's taking over directing the thriller

Antoine Fuqua is the new man in charge of spec script Prisoners, negotiating to direct the thriller for Warners and Alcon Entertainment.

The script, written by Aaron Guzikowski, was a hot property around Hollywood and as originally shoved into a deal that included Bryan Singer directing with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale starring.

But it never quite got moving and was sold to Alcon, which has trimmed the budget down and is now locking in Fuqua to take over the director's chair.

Unless Wahlberg and Bale stay aboard, it'll need two new stars to play a small town man whose daughter is kidnapped and takes the main suspect into custody after the cops fail to save the case.

He ends up coming into conflict with the detective who arrives to investigate.

The studio wants it up and shooting by early neat year…

Is Fuqua a fair match for the project? Who should he cast?
