The American director Anton Corbijn has signed on to helm an adaptation of John le Carré’s novel A Most Wanted Man.
The film’s script has been written by Edge Of Darkness scribe Andrew Bovell, and follows Issa, an illegal Muslim immigrant who is smuggled into Hamburg.
There, civil rights lawyer Annabel resolves to save him from deportation, even if it costs her her career.
Corbijn isn’t the only one currently turning a le Carré novel into a movie – Let The Right One In director Tomas Alfredson is deep in production of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
A Most Wanted Man will begin shooting this winter in Hamburg.
