Arnie stars in new trailer for The Last Stand: watch now

He’s back

The Last Stand has released a new trailer in which Arnold Schwarzenegger’s small-town sheriff finds himself going head to head with a cartel of border-hopping drug dealers.

The film sees the most notorious drugs kingpin in the western hemisphere escape his FBI convoy and make a desperate break for the border. Surrounded by a posse of ruthless badasses, it looks as though it will be plain sailing until Mexico.

However, he hasn’t reckoned with Sheriff Ray Owens, who isn’t about to let a bunch of gangsters use his town as the back door through which to escape the long arm of the law.

Take a look, below…

Despite what sounded like an initially uninspiring premise, we’re beginning to think that this one looks like a dose of good old-fashioned fun, with plenty of humour on display to balance out the meaty action. And despite his advancing years, Arnie still knows how to point a gun.

Directed by Kim Jee-Woon and co-starring Forest Whitaker, Peter Stormare and Johnny Knoxville, The Last Stand opens in the UK on 25 January 2013. I’m the sheriff!

You know what, i agree with you. Initally wasn't fussed about this but it looks like it could be decent. And at the end of the day, regardless how talented an actor he is or not, Schwarzenegger is still a screen icon and it will be good to see him taking the lead in a film once again.
