Frank Miller's classic comic Batman: Year One is being turned into an animated movie, and The Hollywood Reporter has details of the voice cast, as well as a couple of exclusive images.
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) will provide the voice of Jim Gordon, with Ben McKenzie (The OC) playing Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Eliza Dushku will lend her purr to Catwoman, and Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff is Gordon's colleague (and lust object) Sarah Essen.
The adaptation will be a straight-to-DVD original, though it will have its premiere at Comic-Con this July.
Miller's origin story is one of the best-known Batman comics. It was almost adapted into a live-action movie by Darren Aronofsky several years ago, and small nods to it can be seen in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins.
As Bruce Wayne is establishing himself as a masked crimefighter, he joins forces with Lieutenant Gordon, who plays a pivotal role in the story.
Executive producer Bruce Timm (of the superlative Batman: The Animated Series and more) told THR: "The source material is surprisingly cinematic; it's a pretty straight forward literal retelling.
"[David] Mazzucchelli's artwork is beautifully composed and we were able to refer to the comic for about 80 percent of the camera setups."
Check out a couple of images from the adaptation below:

Cool, looking forward to this, it's looking better than expected. Just hope they don't rush it and the animation is smooth.

Because two stills is apparently enough to get Nolan quaking in his boots?
