A bunch of arty Girl With The Dragon Tattoo images have been released and we absolutely love them.
Despite the fact they don't really look like stills from the movie - especially the above image, unless Fincher's boldly experimenting with Hipstamatic video cameras - they still increase our anticipation levels by highlighting just how much Rooney Mara's getting into character.
Check 'em out below and tell us what you think.

Ok, Rooney Mara is already getting a lot of bad criticism for this role which is ridiculous as nobody has seen this film yet. Yes, the swedish film was fantastic. Yes Noomi Rapace was amazing in it. Maybe it did not need a Hollywood remake. But give it a chance folks. Mara definitely looks the part and I think she deserves a chance to prove herself. I'm gonna put money on her being as amazing as Rapace. Its going to be a different film and these pictures make me extremely excited to see it!!!

I really didn't think much of the Swedish version. I was very excited about watching it and read the book beforehand, but felt very disappointed. The casting was good and the quality of acting superb, however the story moved along at such a pace that character development seemed like an afterthought. I for one am hoping for a much different approach by Fincher. f**k it, make it three hours long if need be, just do the film and book justice.

The original was a chilling dark masterpiece, I have no interest in Fincher's version.

I am definitely willing to give it a chance, despite being a huge fan of both the books and the original Swedish films. I absolutely adored Rapace as Lisbeth, but Rooney shouldn't be receiving boos already. I don't think she's as oddly stunning as Rapace, but that doesn't mean she won't be able to embody the role of Lisbeth just as well. And Fincher is brilliant, as is the rest of the cast, and hello? Trent Reznor is doing the music. What more could you ask for?

It's Fincher. I'm there... although the white eyebrows are a little too weird maybe?
