Ben Barnes is Dorian Gray

Narnia’s Prince Caspian tackles more literature…

He’s currently at the top of the box office with Prince Caspian, but Ben Barnes is plotting to keep his movie star looks intact with a mysterious painting he’s having installed in his house.

All right, so he’s only signed on to play the title character in The Picture Of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde’s classic tale of a vein young man who wishes that his portrait would age in his place so he can keep his handsome looks. But this being gothic horror, it naturally doesn’t end well for Dorian.

Oliver Parker, who last updated St Trinian's (and has announced at Cannes that he’s planning a sequel) has adapted the plot and will start shooting in mid-summer. The Hollywood Reporter is hoping for eternal youth.
