Bill Nighy signs up for Total Recall reboot

As do Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale

Bill Nighy has joined Colin Farrell in the Total Recall reboot.

The British actor will take on the role of Quatto, the enigmatic and charming leader of the resistance. In the 1990 original, the resistance is based on Mars.

Not so in director Len Wiseman’s new adaptation of Phillip K Dick’s story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, which will feature a number of differences to the original Arnie actioner.

Meanwhile, Wiseman’s wife Kate Beckinsale has officially landed the lead role of Lori, while Jessica Biel will play the second female lead Melina.

Now that those three pivotal roles have been cast – alongside Farrell as hero Quaid and Bryan Cranston as the villain – filming on Recall is scheduled to start this Monday in Toronto.

Recall? Or rubbish? What do you think to Wiseman's reboot? Drop us your thoughts below...

Male casting on this is pretty much spot on. All of them are good soild actors. But really, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. Haven't people learned these women can't act. Obviously Kate only got the gig cause she's knobbing the director, who know's, maybe Biel did to to get the gig, maybe even Farrell. But seriously, bad bad bad bad casting on the girly front.

I really want to know Paul Verhoeven's opinion about this project.... @Bruce....I totally agree with you! Beckinsale and Biel suck! (Kate the director....and probably Biel also....) I only would like to see Rutger Hauer take the part of the bad guy....

Was Kuato a mutant belly man in the book or was that just in Verhoeven's movie? I think Nighy would be perfectly cast as a belly mutant :)
