A new poster has been released for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s upcoming action epic Black Gold, with Tahar Rahim and Antonio Banderas channelling the spirit of Lawrence Of Arabia.
Adapted from Hans Reusch novel The Great Thirst, the film is set in the Arab states of the early ’30s, at the dawn of the region’s oil boom. Tahar Rahim plays a young prince whose loyalties are torn between his father (Mark Strong) and his powerful father-in-law (Antonio Banderas), when he marries Frieda Pinto’s beautiful princess.

Meanwhile, the new poster promotes the film as a sweeping, desert-set epic in the vein of classic Hollywood pictures of the past. It’s certainly an image that captures the imagination.
