Borat tries to crash the White House

Sacha Baron Cohen stopped at the gates by the Secret Service

You are Borat, crusading Kazakh journalist and sexy party-planner extraordinaire. You have a new movie coming out that you want to succeed (particularly as you will be executed if it doesn’t). It involves America. So what do you do? Why, you turn up at the White House and attempt to invite "Premier George Walter Bush" to a special screening of your film, the well-titled Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan.

Sadly for Borat – or rather, his alter ego, actor Sacha Baron Cohen – the Secret Service were not impressed by the offer and refused to let him in. It’s no surprise that Cohen turned up when he did, as outraged Kazakh officials are about to visit the president to protest Borat’s comedy claims that theirs is a nation of anti-Semitic, women-hating morons.

Borat would like it known that he’s also inviting “OJ Simpson, Mel Gibsons and other ‘American dignitaries’.” We’re surprised he was turned away: after all, they’ll let any idiot into the White House these days (little bit of politics there, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll be here all day. Try the shrimp.)
