Bradley Cooper could play Lucifer in Paradise Lost

Is eager to bag the role

Bradley Cooper is currently in talks to play Lucifer in Alex Proyas’ adaptation of Paradise Lost.

Based on the 17th century epic poem by John Milton, the film is expected to follow the same general plot in which Satan tempts Adam and Eve, leading to their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

The fall-out from that is war in Heaven between archangels Lucifer and Michael.

This being 2011, Milton’s idea of ‘epic’ is being translated in a modern movie version of 'epic', with Proyas envisioning Lost as an “action vehicle”. Variety also report that the film will include “aerial warfare” and could be shot in 3D.

Though Cooper’s slate is pretty full at the moment, what with The Crow having been shoved his way as well, he’s apparently keen to play the role of Lucifer.

Should we expect to see the A-Team star donning a giant pair of wings in the future, then? Dare to dream...

Diabolical? Or delicious? Can this adap being anything other than horrible? Drop us your comments below...

Proyas is a better director than most, his Dark City is a hidden gem and with I.robot he made a surprising optimitsitc vision of the future rather than another hackneyed dystopian blade runner clone... I reckon this will be a 2-parter, the first will beadam and eve, Lucifer trying to overthrow HEaven annd being cast out, the second film will be the army-building and mass wars

Dear oh dear... I can't wait for the remake upon hearing this news. I can hear the producers now 'this time it will be much darker'.
