Breathtaking visuals abound in Pixar’s Brave teaser

“It is the one thing we must always be”

brave

The first trailer for Pixar’s next animated adventure Brave has swept online.

We say 'swept', because the imagery shown off in the one minute introductory teaser ebbs with beauty, melancholy and mystery.

Pixar’s 13th feature film, Brave follows the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald), a talented archer and the daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson).

Sticking two fingers up at tradition, Merida is determined to follow her own path – and has to confront the true meaning of bravery when a perilous wish comes true.

Brave’s first teaser does everything you’d expect a Pixar teaser to do. The imagery is gorgeous, the detail staggering and the promise of great things to come is well and truly present.

Check out the teaser below…

Brave opens 17 August 2012.

Ok I take back what I said about it looking like a dreamworks production :p Looking much nicer! Still looks a fair bit more adult than other Pixar fare though...

Looks very nice. I thought the voiceover was Gerry Butler at first.

Looks absolutely cracking. It's annoying that the film is set in Scotland yet us in the UK have to wait longer than those in the US to see it. I bet 90% of yanks have never even heard of the Highlands

90%? That might a bit of an over statement. We are not all idiots. Besides, it's not like we get everything first. Had to wait a long time for Paul, Mighty Boosh, Spaced, Children of Men and I still can't get a copy of Razorback that'll play on anything other than a region free. If some in this country have never heard of the Highlands, I have this counter point. Have you seen the movie Winter's Bone? (you should) Care to tell me where that film takes place, without the aide of your computer?

Looks very pretty, Lily Cole versus a bear?! I'm going with Kevin McKidd for the voice over guy Jeff! Pixar doing adult themes and a slightly more mature production are always welcome, has to better than the toddler friendly drivel like 'Cars', talk about pandering to an audience, the under ten male children cinema audience have a lot to answer for! Where's 'Bug's Life 2'?!.....*grumbles*
