The trailer for Rowan Joffe’s adaptation of Graeme Green's Brighton Rock has arrived.
The story follows small-time gangster Pinkie, (Sam Riley, Control) who kills a rival in 1960s Brighton. Pinkie faces blackmail threats from a waitress, Rose (Andrea Riseborough, Never Let Me Go), who knows about the murder.
Alongside Riley and Riseborough are Helen Mirren (The Last Station), John Hurt (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1), and Andy Serkis (Burke and Hare).
Brighton Rock is Joffe’s first venture into directing, and it received mixed responses at the Tronoto Film Festival in September.
Joffe’s wrote screenplay for both 28 Weeks Later, and the new George Clooney film, The American.
