It’s the sort of casting announcement you imagine has producers rubbing their hands with undisguised glee when they think about all the demographic boxes they’re ticking in one foul swoop.
Because the thesp list for David Michaels’ new indie fantasy comedy boasts Brittany Murphy, Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi, Jim Broadbent, Tim Roth and Lili Taylor. The script – which was penned by Michaels and Phil Reeves – finds a graduate student (Murphy) sent to work at a scientific outpost on a small, cold island. There she discovers a weird mix of characters who are hiding a terrible, tragic secret. If it’s that their water supply is the source for Sunny Delight, we’re going to be really disappointed.
The film starts shooting in Nova Scotia this November.
