Bryce Dallas Howard joins Eclipse

She's the new Victoria for the Twilight series...

Looks like Bryce Dallas Howard's career as a thesp replacement isn't over yet - she's the new Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Howard will be replacing Rachelle Lefevre, who played the character in the original Twilight and New Moon.

But now Twi-company Summit is saying that scheduling issues are forcing Lefevre (below) to give up the role.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise," says Summit acquisition president Erik Feig.

"Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role."

Howard's last subbing job was playing the character of Kate Connor in Terminator Salvation, taking over the role originated by Clare Danes.

Eclipse is shooting this August in Vancouver with Hard Candy's David Slade at the helm.

Thanks to Summit's full-speed production schedule, it'll be out on June 30 next year.

p********f with the switch! I liked Lefevre as Victoria especially because we finally got the characters on screen. And first Lefevre said it was a scheduling conflict then Summit denied that and claimed they account for their actors' others commitments and now its a scheduling conflict again. Seems to me as though they've decided that now Twilight's a hit, tis time to put in some more famous faces!
