It’s been all quiet on the First Avenger: Captain America front since Joe Johnston was announced as the film’s director earlier in '09.
Well, it’s still sort of hushed out there (those movie bods are probably still finishing up the turkey curry), but Johnston has finally confirmed the shooting date for his Marvel superhero flick.
While chatting with Fangoria magazine about his upcoming Wolf Man, the director revealed that he's set to lense the flick in June 2010. Which is earlier than expected considering how long it usually takes to get these big projects off the ground.
In other words, yes, this really is actually happening. And we couldn’t be more excited.
But who’ll be donning the spandex and wings as the titular justice server?

Aaron Eckhart if you want to go down the traditional all American route. Matthew McConaughey could do it as well. I could see Will Smith carrying it off, but it's an outside choice

Jensen Ackles, he'll do it well, he's not well known so it would give the character something fresh, plus he looks pretty similar.

I think Jensen Ackles is a great idea. Mathon Fillion would be too sarcastic. Eckhart would be too old and Will Smith would not work at all.

whats wrong with jeremy renner, up and coming star, could provide the base structure for the avengers. this role was also made for ryan reynolds but hes already taken with the green lantern, this would be a better move

Ryan Reynolds is already Deadpool/ Wade Wilson so he'll probably be in the movie somewhere as him :) Matt Damon is too big as is Sam Worthington after Avatar, it needs to be someone smaller and Jensen Ackles has only had tv roles really and has done very well with them, he should be it. He has a pretty good accent for it too.

Jensen Ackles and Sam Worthington have the JAW for it .Ackles DESIRVES A GOOD MOVIE CARIER !!!!tHAT guy from Smallwille that plays Gren arow is god for it .No black guys cause all the good ones are expensive someone serios and manley like Densel is hard to find it's all hipi hop reepers with there shorts half out like wegies
