With Oliver Stone hard at work on the sequel to Wall Street – called Money Never Sleeps, at least for now – it looks like he’s starting to add to the cast.
According to the lads at Latino Review, Britain’s own Sundance sensation (blimey, that sounded a bit too much like The Sun for comfort) Carey Mulligan is close to landing a pivotal part as Gordon Gekko’s daughter.
The Pride And Prejudice/An Education actress (though she’ll always be Dr Who’s Sally Sparrow to at least one of the team) will likely be playing Winnie, Michael Douglas’ sprog, and fiancée to Jacob (Shia LaBeouf).
She hasn’t spoken to her criminal pop for 11 years since he’s been in the slammer- seems she blames him for her brother Rudy’s suicide.
The plot will see Gekko agreeing to help Jacob take down a dodgy hedge fund manage if the lad will help him mend his relationship with his daughter.
Mulligan’s a great actress, so we’ve got high hopes.
