She’s signed on for Sebastian Gutierrez' Elektra Luxx

Carla Gugino has jumped aboard the comedy Elektra Luxx, starring alongside Timothy Olyphant, Alicia Silverstone and Weeds’ Justin Kirk.

But don’t get too excited about her porn star character – according to Variety, Gugino’s character gets pregnant and has her life turned upside down.

Luxx will act as a sequel to Sebastian Gutierrez' ensemble comedy Women In Trouble, a film that has yet to find a distributor. Being helmed by the man who made the awful Lucy Liu horror thriller Rise: Blood Hunter can’t be helping.

Trilogy

Still, Gutierrez is unbowed and is hard at work on Luxx while also planning a trilogy, with Women In Ecstasy as the final instalment. There’s something to be said for hope over experience.
