Despite the disagreement over Twilight, director Catherine Hardwicke and Summit Entertainment appear to have come to terms – as she’s signed on to make If I Stay for the company.
Based on Gayle Forman’s novel – which, in true Hollywood style has yet to be published yet – finds a gifted musician and her indie rock star boyfriend who must choose between life and slipping the mortal coil when they’re in a car accident.
"When we were thinking of the perfect director to capture the emotion, grace and passion of this beautiful book, one filmmaker became the clear and only choice: Catherine Hardwicke,” Summit’s production president Erik Feig announced.
He added, “but if she tries to make the sequel, she’s toast.” Okay, we kid.
