The Dark Knight Rises arrives on DVD in a couple of weeks, and a snippet of one of the behind the scenes featurettes has been newly released online.
The featurette focuses on one of the film’s most thrilling set-pieces, namely Bane’s eye-catching assault on the Gotham Rogues football stadium.
Visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin is on hand to explain how the scene was created, from the explosive charges needed to send the tufts of turf flying, to the specially placed holes for the stuntmen to disappear down.
Take a look, below…
The stadium scene was certainly one of the film’s biggest wow-moments, and its interesting to see how it was put together, particularly since Chris Nolan is so famously resistant to the overuse of CGI technology.
Directed by Nolan and co-starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway, The Dark Knight Rises arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on 3 December 2012.
