Kimberly Peirce’s remake of horror classic Carrie has released a new clip online, in which Chloë Grace Moretz prepares to leave for that fateful prom.
However, before she can get herself out of the front door, there’s her religiously fanatical mother (Julianne Moore) to deal with, with the older woman harbouring all sorts of misgivings about the evening ahead.
And while her mother might be a raving loon, Carrie is plenty equipped to deal with her ranting, locking her into a nearby closet without having to lay a hand on her…

Interestingly, Carrie’s telekinesis looks to be much more of a “super-power” in this clip, as she uses it at will to restrain her mother. However, as audiences will be well aware, she won’t be able to keep it under this level of control for long…
Directed by Peirce and co-starring Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde and Portia Doubleday, Carrie will open in the UK on 29 November 2013, after hitting the US on 18 October.
