Chris Evans clarifies Marvel future

Still has two more films to run on his contract

Chris Evans set tongues wagging recently by suggesting he might take a break from acting, leading to rumours that the star was considering bailing on the rest of his Marvel contract.

However, Evans has taken the time to clarify his intentions, confirming that he has two Marvel films left on his deal after Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and has every intention of seeing them through.

“Oh yeah, this was a big thing!” exclaims Evans. “I gotta watch what I say. I will absolutely clarify. I have a six-movie contract with Marvel and I absolutely plan on fulfilling them.”

“This is without a doubt the biggest blessing in my life. Marvel has literally changed the game for me, and they make great movies. I did direct last year and it was a really fantastic experience, I really enjoyed it.”

“I’m certainly looking to do that a bit more, so when it comes to exploring other acting jobs, I may not be as proactive in trying to find those. I may kind of stick with my Marvel universe in terms of getting in front of the camera, and then getting behind the camera outside of it.”

Nothing to panic about then! Evans’ next outing is Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opens in the UK on 28 March 2014.

Then Stan can take over as the new Bucky/Cap.

That would seem most likely if they follow the comics, but I'm glad Evans is still around for three more adventures :)

Nice to see Evans has caught the directing bug, perhaps Chris could become the next Affleck?

Yeah, he seems to have genuine passion for being behind the camera, I'm looking forward to his efforts. The next Affleck? Does this mean Evans may take on another superhero role after he's become a director? One with a cape this time? :)
