Chris Hemsworth has read Joss Whedon’s Avengers script

“Everything about the story is huge”

Joss Whedon has been busy working away at his movie adaptation of The Avengers, and it seems that a script for the film has finally been completed.

Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in this year’s, uh, Thor, and will head up Avengers, has read the script. Lucky for us, he's given MTV his reactions.

“Everything about the story and the comic books is huge,” he says. “You have these huge, big superheroes and huge, big egos crammed into one small space.

“Reading the script, it was massive. Everything about it was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I said to Joss, ‘I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing [laughs], but I'm excited to be onboard and let's give it a go.’”

Hemsworth also took the time to address rumours that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye would be cameoing in Thor, revealing: “I haven't seen the cut yet, and he wasn't on set when I was there.”

Thor opens 29 April.

Cor? Or bore? Looking forward to seeing what Whedon does with The Avengers? Speak up below...

They've gotta have Thor and Iron Man battling with The Hulk at some stage in the film.

I think that if their going to base it around the origin of The Avengers then it will be them taking on Loki and The Hulk as if I remember correctly Loki poisoned the mind of hulk against "The Avengers". So I agree with @Ali1748 chances are they will have Iron Man and Thor vs The Hulk.

That I will agree on (The Iron Man franchise). Thor looks incredible. I personally feel though when it comes to Avengers it won't work, as throwing that many characters into one film is never a good idea. Perfect example, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Now I know it's not a particularly good film but what never helped it was throwing several characters from different stories together. So you get my point. Massive collaboration movies i think are never a good idea.

Well X-Men 2 managed to juggle a lot of Superhuman characters, but they were pretty much interchangeable, the Avengers is full of stand-alone comic titans (plus Antman and Black Widow).
