Chris Nolan helming Inception

Dark Knight director goes sci-fi

Now we know how Chris Nolan will follow up The Dark Knight: he’s tackling sci-fi for Warners.

The studio has thrown down millions to nab Nolan’s script, which is still wrapped in silence but apparently a “contemporary sci-fi action pic set within the architecture of the mind”.

So… A brainy thriller, then?

Warners is planning to make it a big summer 2010 release, and keeps the director close at hand in the hopes that he’ll be inspired to keep making Bat-movies.

But hopefully this will put to rest all that chatter about Nolan being deep into pre-production on a new installment of the Bat-franchise.

Give the man some space, people – if TDK proves anything it’s that allowed a breather, Nolan comes back better than ever.

chris nolan must have a pretty damn good idea of what he's planning for the next film, when he originally pitched the idea to warner bros he said it was a trilogy. and the idea of him blindly making each film without knowing how the next one concludes is ridiculous . he knows what hes doing

Sci Fi + Nolan ... I´m p**sing my pants as I write this. I would love a good dark Sci Fi with the plot lines of Nolan and if anything it will be visually interesting. But I don´t think he will just do that... this guy must be, right now, the most powerful person in Hollywood, I´m sure he will be able to do whatever he wants. Just hope he doesn´t go all Peter Jackson and makes a 3 hours pile of s**t like King Kong was!
