Chris Wedge finds Hugo Cabret

Ice Age’s director adapting a kids’ book…

He’s wowed the kiddie crowd with the ‘toon titans Ice Age and Robots, and now Chris Wedge is switching to live action, but sticking with younger audiences for The Invention Of Hugo Cabret.

He’ll direct the adaptation of Brian Selznick’s novel about an orphan who secretly lives in the walls of a Paris train station and repairs the clocks. But when he fixes a mysterious mechanical man, he gets swept up in an adventure.

The Aviator’s John Logan is writing the script and Variety is keeping track of the movie.
