Christoph Waltz takes a stroll in first clip from The Zero Theorem: watch now

A look at Terry Gilliam’s futurescape

Terry Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem has released a first clip online, in which Christoph Waltz takes a stroll through a lurid vision of the future.

The new film sees Waltz play Qohen, a shuffling eccentric who spends his days waiting for a mysterious phone call while working on his “Zero Theorem”, designed to prove that existence is meaningless.

The new clip gives us a pretty good impression of his world, although you’ll probably have to watch it a couple of times to take in all the details… including what looks like a Boris Johnson cameo!

Take a look at the new clip, below…

If nothing else, this latest clip shows that Gilliam’s imagination is as febrile as ever. We particularly enjoyed the advert for the church of “Batman the Redeemer”.

Directed by Gilliam and co-starring David Thewlis, Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton, The Zero Theorem will open in Italy on 19 December 2013, with a UK date to be confirmed.

What do you think of the new clip? Tell us, below!

Thought the QR code on the "Batman the Redeemer" advert would be a little easter egg....and it is :) Though, it only came up with "Bat-man is the new Messiah" in the search but didn't lead to a website unfortunately. But still, worth a shot, and it might eventually be something.
