Christopher Lee is The Vij

And Freddy Krueger’s directing!

Robert Englund clearly isn’t wasting any time bitching about the fact that New Line appears to have ditched him from his iconic Freddy Krueger role.

He’s throwing himself back into his directing career, rounding up Christopher Lee for a role as The Vij. The film will find Lee playing an evil (surprise!) genie who controls the actions of a young priest, making him commit murder and have naughty sex with a freakish old witch disguised as a lovely lady. All in a day’s work for your average evil genie, then.

Englund will shoot in Italy this April and Variety has conjured up the full story.
