Cloverfield's overture roars to iTunes

Michael Giacchino's monstrous closing score gets a release...

While the film raised plenty of love-hate debate, one thing that most people agreed was uniformly brilliant was Michael Giacchino’s closing credits score, a suitably Godzilla-homaging overture entitled Roar.

For a long time we’ve wanted to see it hit the interwebs or CD as a proper release, and Giacchino has been promising that, once all the rights issues are sorted, it’ll escape into the world. Well, American readers will be pleased to know that they’ll be able to download it from iTunes today, the not-so-coincidental date that Cloverfield hits the US store for rent.

Fingers crossed it’ll be over in the Blighty iTunes store when the film’s DVD/online rental release hits these shores. Ain’t It Cool got the news release.
