If you were seething with righteous envy at our description of the Avatar footage that played at Comic-Con today, James Cameron has a fix.
Shortly after the 20-plus minutes unspooled, the director announced that August 21 would be known as Avatar Day.
“We wanted people who couldn’t come to Comic-Con to be able to see what you’ve seen so we’re going to take over as many IMAX and 2D cinemas on August 21st,” the director said. We’re going to allow international audiences to come and see footage from Avatar for free.”
So mark your calendars - everyone (well, everyone within range of a participating cinema and who can get a ticket) will get their chance to see it.
We'll keep you updated with the details...
