Conan The Barbarian slices up a new red band trailer

"When a barbarian feels thirst, it is a thirst for blood"

A new red band trailer for Conan The Barbarian has landed online.

The Cimmerian warrior spills a fair amount of the red stuff in the latest promo, which, let's be honest, is what you want to see from the Robert E Howard-created character.

No new story beats are revealed besides a couple of moments between Conan and Tamara (Rachel Nichols), and there's little characterisation on show, save for the assertion that, yes, Mr Barbarian does enjoy slicing up his enemies.

That said, the swordswinging is delivered with considerable panache, and Jason Momoa certainly has Conan's hulking physical presence down to a T.

Check out the red band trailer for yourself right here:

Conan The Barbarian opens 26 August 2011.

Impressed by this bloodthirsty promo? Or are you still unconvinced about the latest screen incarnation of the character? Let us know!

Looks suitably violent and after Game Of Thrones I have been impressed with Momoa... it's just a shame they decided to play some awful clich├ęd heavy metal music to accompany the trailer... always a sign of a crappy movie.

he seems to have exceeded expectations, I hope he gets more than token beefcake roles, but its doubtful

Drogo looks so weird without his beard and braids.

Oh the music! Someone please do something about the music! I hope they don't try and sell this on the soundtrack if indeed that music is used in the film. Looks quite bloody though but I'm guessing that's all the blood you see in the whole film just been played in the trailer. Still not sure about Momoa as Conan either. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
