The first trailer for Marcus Nispel's Conan the Barbarian redo has landed online at Yahoo Movies.
It plants itself well and truly in the 'teaser' category though, giving virtually no hint of what we can expect from the movie in terms of plot or action.
We're gifted with quite a few glimpses of Jason Momoa waving around his sword and generally showing of his admirable pectoral muscles, but it's all filtered through a weird smokey haze.
So it basically tells us that Momoa is exceptionally muscled, and that Conan is content with his current lifestyle: living, loving and slaying.
Watch it for yourself below and see if you can deduce anything more substantial:
This is hardly going to convert the dubious, and it looks like we'll have to wait for a full-length trailer to give an accurate judgment.
They haven't got long to get a proper trailer out though: Conan the Barbarian is set to open on 19 August 2011.

No a good sign when they don't show you ANYTHING in the trailer. I've seen some still photos, and the make-up is extreme, though I'm sure some will see it as authentic. Also, let's see the babes: Rachel & Rose...showing some skin, I hope.Bottom line: I think we're talking a $100 million bomb!

People should realize that this is simply a teaser and not meant to give away plot or much substance as far as characters go. It is meant to simply get us excited/talking about the film. It is a successful teaser, whether or not you are going to see this film. As a side note, to those who are complaining about this being another 'annoying re-make', everyone should understand that is NOT a remake, it's a re-adaptation. From what I've read, this film will be more accurate to Robert E. Howard's original stories. I for one, cannot wait to see this film.
