Cool unused Super 8 posters show up online

Check out these alternative posters for JJ Abrams' blockbuster

With the release of Super 8 fast approaching, some very cool hand drawn posters for the film have surfaced.

Unfortunately they were never officially released as part of the film’s promotion, but, thankfully for us, they've turned up online.

It is clear that they have been designed as a nod to producer Steven Spielberg. The posters are reminiscent of those associated with Spielberg’s classics, drawn by artist Drew Struzan.

Bad Robot commissioned artists Daniel Skubal and fiancé Veronica LaPage to make the posters, which never ended up being used.

Needless to say they are impressive and capture the era, mystery and sci-fi feel that this film promises.

Click on the link below to read Daniel Skubal’s blog for a detailed explanation of how the posters came about.

Super 8 opens on 5 August 2011.

I'm guessing they weren't used because of the distinct lack of lens flare.
