Could Sharlto Copley be The A-Team's Murdock?

He may have been offered the part...

After months of crawling through development, The A-Team is finally ray to start shooting. And it  looks like Joe Carnahan has found someone he wants to play Captain HM "Howlin' Mad" Murdock.

That someone is District 9 star Sharlto Copley, who sounds like a great choice.

Before you start venting your pleasure/disgust at the idea, Blackfilm is reporting that so far, only an offer has been sent to the South African producer/writer/director and now prawn-wrangling actor - and that he has yet to accept.

He's just the latest in a long line of people mooted for the role - from Jim Carrey years ago to an enthusiastic Chris Pine more recently.

But with UFC brawler Quinton "Rampage" Jackson now the probable BA and Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper locked in, the plan is well and truly coming together.

Good choice, he has got a frazzled, wired up on caffeine and coke sort of presence in District 9 when he's pushed to the end of his tether. I only have one reservation, and that's that I hope he has the vocal skills to alter his accent, not that I'm against him using his native tongue, but the character is meant to be an American soldier, that's all.

Whether you agree he ought to be or not, he is, I saw him on the set yesterday walking with Liam Neeson during the shooting of some of the exciting escape (from the mexican hospital) footage.
