Total Film recently had an exclusive chat with Daniel Radcliffe, and we took the opportunity to grill him on his post-Potter career.
The actor recently appeared in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying on Broadway, so we asked if he feels the need to take risks following the success of the wizarding mega-franchise: “Absolutely. I’m very proud of Harry Potter, but I now have to take a few risks to prove to people that I’m serious about this.
“I don’t regard The Woman in Black particularly as a risk, but certainly Equus was, and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying could be seen as a bit of a risk because it’s something that I’ve never done before.
“I think that’s how you prove to people that you are prepared to take slightly more extreme steps than most actors would normally have to.”
So, he likes keeping ridiculously busy then? “Yes! This is the time in my life when I’ve got both the energy and the desire to be busy, so I’m making hay while the sun shines.
“I get bored very quickly when I’m not doing anything, and I’m very happy at work, so I don’t know why I’d stop!”
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is released 15 July 2011, and The Woman in Black is due to land on 10 February 2012.
