Danny DeVito loves directing young adult novel adaptations. He’s struck success in the past with the likes of Matilda and now he’s penned the script for The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle, based on mono-named author Avi’s book.
And he’s lined up quite a cast for the project – Morgan Freeman, Pierce Brosnan and Atonement’s Saoirse Ronan will all star in the tale of a daring girl (we’ll leave you to figure out which of the thesps will take that role) who travels between England and America in the 1830s and the dangerous situation she finds herself in.
DeVito will start filming in September and Variety has booked passage.
