Danny Dyer: "I'm my own worst enemy"

Exclusive: Dyer talks career struggles

In issue 213 of Total Film magazine – the Winter Preview Issue out now!– we bring you some amazing exclusives from the biggest, mightiest movies coming your way over the next few months.

Inside the issue – which is available for just £1.99 on your iPad – we pick the brains, exclusively, of one of the UK's most contentious and entertaining actors, one Mr Danny Dyer.

In our no-holds-barred interview, Dyer freely admits that while his career got off to a roaring start, his recent cinematic output has been far from stellar.

"I started my career and I couldn't put a foot wrong," he says. "It was like, 'Oh, who's that guy?' 'It's Danny Dyer.' 'Oh, he's really good. He's nicked the film.'"

"[But then] I did too many people too many favours... I realised, 'Actually, fucking hell, I'm becoming a bit of a joke here.'... I'm my own worse enemy. I don't blame anyone but myself."

For more honest revelations from Dyer, including his enthusiasm and pride for his new revenge-thriller Vendetta, and a suited-and-booted photo shoot like the images featured above, and a whole host of other mega-names (including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gillian Anderson, Javier Bardem and many more, pick up the brand-new issue 213 of Total Film magazine, which is out now).

We focus on the most exciting winter movies and TV  - including The Wolf Of Wall StreetAmerican Hustle and Doctor Who, The Walking Dead and many more  - taking a close look at Hunger Games follow-up, Catching Fire

Well at least they guy knows himself and is refreshingly honest. His performance in Human Traffic was one that really stood out, he did indeed steal the film and several others after. I'd assumed that the dip in standards was due to either typecasting or a severe lack of range, but looking at his filmography there do appear to be a great many favours-for-mates roles amongst them. I'd like to think it's not too late for a second shot at a decent career in better quality movies, he has the talent I'm sure.

My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do...... Rush64.COℳ
