Dark Knight gets release date

It's Monday morning. Bored already? Here's a date for your diary. Your 2008 diary that is.

Okay, so maybe it’s a little premature. Perhaps we shouldn’t be quite as excited as we are but the fact that Warner Bros have scheduled the release date for Dark Knight is certainly getting our juices a-flowing.

Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins follow-up will swoop into cinemas on 18 July 2008. The flick will see Heath Ledger’s Joker go toe-to-toe with Christian Bale’s Bat.

Dark Knight will be in good company that summer, with fellow crime-stoppers Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Will Smith’s out of favour superhero tale Tonight, He Comes all set to open.

2008 is certainly shaping up to be the year of wearing your underpants on the outside…
