Darren Aronofsky plans a heist

He's directing and producing a new thriller

BY James White Sep 22nd 2009 7:07AMFILED UNDER: Movie news

Darren Aronofsky has added another film to his crammed list of possible projects - an untitled indie heist thriller based on the 2006 Securitas robbery that saw £53  million stolen.

Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures is developing the film, which writer Kerry Williamson will adapt from a couple of sources.

The two main titles feeding the screenplay are Jon Wertheim's Sports Illustrated articled Breaking The Bank and Howard Sounes' book Heist: The Inside Story Of The World's Biggest Robbery.

It's not known when Aronofsky will get around to the film - he's in pre-production on spooky ballet thriller Black Swan and there's still the lingering possibility that he may one day actually make that RoboCop reboot…
