David S. Goyer talks writing Man Of Steel

Compares it to writing for Batman

With Man Of Steelset to swoop into cinemas in just over six months time, screenwriter David S. Goyer has been talking about the character, and how writing for Superman compares to writing for Batman.

“I’m really proud of it,” begins Goyer. “I never thought I would be doing a Superman film, but I think the only possible way to top myself or ourselves on Batman is to tackle Superman, who’s kind of the Granddaddy of all the superheroes.

“He’s trickier, it’s kind of easier doing a dark character who doesn’t have any super powers, but I’m really proud of what we’ve done and I can’t wait for people to see it.

“I think the movie is going to be the right movie for the times,” he continues. “I’m happy that movie is coming out in the summer, because I think it’s the kind of movie that the world needs right now.”

It could be Commissioner Gordon speaking, couldn’t it? Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe and Amy Adams, Man Of Steel opens on 14 June 2013.

wow, it's really refreshing to hear that a hollywood hotshot hasn't let all the praise and success over inflate his ego and sense of self importance. bet he looks great running round the house in his cape and red boots too. this is exactly the kind of self aggrandising that the world needs right now.

Someone announces that he's proud of what he's done and thinks people will like it and that is egotistical and self important? Some people on here would attack certain writers/directors regardless of whether they say did c**p, or think they did good. Hey, how about you write the script for the sequel, show him how its done, and announce how proud you are of your version? I'm sure that not being a hotshot, you won't have to worry about being branded egotistical.

Yeah I don't have any issues with what David said there.
