Along with Asia, Italy and France tend to be big sources of films for US studios to remake. The latest based-on-Italy’s-output offering is Everybody’s Fine, which Kirk Jones has adapted from Stanno Tutti Bene, and is about to start directing.
Robert De Niro has nabbed the lead as a lonely widower who begins to realise that his kids are the only connection to his late wife. So he toddles off on a road trip to look them all up, only to find that – surprise! – everybody’s not fine. Drew Barrymore and Kate Beckinsale are among his spawn, along with Sam Rockwell.
