Jason Statham drives so much in his films – at such high speeds and with such disregard for The Highway Code- that we’d hate to be a passenger in any car he drives in real life.
Still, in Paul WS Anderson’s remake of Death Race, he’s forced back behind the wheel as a NASCAR driver framed for the murder of his wife who ends up in a brutal prison whose warden (Joan Allen) has come up with a nifty money making scheme – make prisoners race to the death. The winner bags his freedom. The losers? Well, it is a race to the death, after all….
