Despicable Me 2 has released a madcap full-length trailer online, reintroducing us to Steve Carell’s domesticated supervillain Gru.
Living a contented family life with his three adopted daughters, Gru is forced back into the big leagues when a new supervillain arrives on the scene.
It seems Gru’s insider knowledge is needed to help stamp out this new threat, which is why he’s recruited for the Anti-Villain League. Steve Coogan’s dulcet vocals are on hand to AVL suit Silas Ramsbottom.
That’s pretty much all we get in terms of plot, with much of the trailer’s 2m40s runtime dedicated to cool gadgets and Minion-based slapstick.
