Disney planning Dumbo remake

Live-action version reportedly in the works

Disney is preparing to mine the vaults for another remake of a timeless classic, with the news that a live-action update of Dumbo is apparently on the way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new version of the film involves “the adaptation of the original movie, adding a unique family story that parallels Dumbo’s story.”

The report also reveals that Transformers: Age Of Extinction scribe Ehren Kruger will be in charge of putting together a script, and will also co-produce alongside Justin Springer.

Of course, the biggest challenge will be to create a CGI Dumbo that manages to swerve the inadvertent horror of, say, the recent Paddington update, but hopefully Disney can navigate that without too much legacy-trampling.

No release date has been pencilled in as yet, but the film will cement the studio’s push to update its old classics, with live-action versions of Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty And The Beast all also on the horizon.

There had better be a scene where CGI Dumbo swings in the.....sniff.....trunk of his....sniff....mother who's been........i can't go on. That scene is too sad just even thinking about it.

I just bought a brand new Maserati after having made $8072 this past 4 weeks and just over 10k last month. This is the best and most financially rewarding job I’ve ever had. I actually started this few months ago and almost immediately started to bring home minimum $81 p/h.
