Dragon ahoy in new trailer for 47 Ronin: watch now

“I know what you are…”

47 Ronin has unveiled a new trailer online, featuring even more mythical mayhem than had previously been hinted at.

The new film stars Keanu Reeves as an exiled Ronin who leads 47 of his fellow warriors into battle with a treacherous warlord, in an attempt to restore their lost honour.

However, it won’t be as simple as a straightforward swordfight, as this new trailer illustrates. Why? Because there’s a shape-shifting, dragon-impersonating sorceress to be dealt with…

Take a look, below:

It remains to be seen just how heavily weighted the film’s action sequences are towards CGI-based monster-bashing, but from the looks of this trailer, we've got a fairly good idea…

Directed by Carl Rinsch and co-starring Rinko Kikuchi, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano, 47 Ronin will open in the UK on 26 December 2013.

What do you think of the new trailer? Tell us, below!

It looks good, but I just know it's going to be awful. A mixture of Mortal Kombat and Lord of the Rings. I also don't understand why they would release it at Christmas. I may be proven wrong of course!

keanu reeves has really become the John Wayne of CGI action fantasy, he's great at standing on a green screen stage delivering lines like a distracted tree, it really contrasts well with all the hectic OTT spectacle whooshing around him.
