Dwayne Johnson has signed on to star in the action drama Faster.
It looks like he might be ready to switch out from his family comedy mode for a while, since he's playing an ex-con who goes on a rampage to take out the men who murdered his brother a decade ago.
Turns out they were in the middle of a heist when they got double crossed.
Phil Joanou, who directed Johnson in Gridiron Gang and was planning to make this one, has dropped out, so CBS Films is negotiating with Notorious filmmaker George Tillman Jr to take over.
If he signs on, he'll have to be ready to shoot early next year…
